New workers have significantly higher rates of injuries. Additional and specific training should be provided to introduce the new worker to the workplace. A New worker means a worker who is:
- new to the workplace; or
- is moved to a different part of the workplace that different processes or hazards
- is returning to the same workplace but processes or hazards have since changed
